- Use of AI: TomoClub does not use AI or ML to generate content, make recommendations, or automate decisions in its core programs. Its AI Literacy curriculum teaches students about AI systems and ethics. Its AI Professional Development program trains educators to use AI tools responsibly. No AI is used to interact with or monitor students directly.

Privacy & Safety
- Privacy & security: TomoClub is fully FERPA and COPPA compliant. No student personal data is collected including names, ages, gender, photos, or race. Sessions are never recorded or stored. End-to-end encryption is in place with quarterly vulnerability scans. A 72-hour breach response plan is adaptable to FERPA requirements.
- Crisis protocols: All sessions are led live by a trained TomoClub facilitator or school educator. If a student shows signs of distress, the facilitator pauses the session immediately and alerts school staff within 15 minutes. Schools define their own escalation chain during onboarding. All mental health response is handled by school counselors. No automated or AI tools are used to screen or flag student distress. Protocols are standard but adaptable to district needs.
Data provided to school/district
Schools receive semester-end reports with competency growth charts, session engagement data, and guardian survey results. After every session, guardians receive a Snapshot summarizing what their child worked on and which skills were practiced. Pre and post program assessments are also provided.
Accessibility
- Web accessibility: TomoClub adheres to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. This includes semantic HTML, ARIA labels for screen readers, keyboard navigation, and clear focus indicators. Audio instructions are provided. Games minimize fine motor demands and run on major browsers and low-end devices including Chromebooks.
