Privacy & Safety
- Privacy & Security: We adhere to FERPA and COPPA, plus applicable state student data privacy laws. Our security program is aligned to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. We use HIPAA compliant cloud hosting and are working toward SOC 2 readiness and SOC 2 certification.
- Crisis protocols: We have a standard incident response protocol led by a trained Security Incident Response Team, and we can adapt it to district requirements. We monitor for issues continuously, quickly assess severity, and move into containment, remediation, and recovery while preserving evidence. We notify districts within 48 hours, with executive and board escalation within 72 hours, plus regulators as required. We also complete a post incident review and update controls.
Data provided to school/district
Knowlej provides real-time dashboards for schools and districts to show attendance trends, days attended per student, missed days, and which students are at risk of becoming or remaining chronically absent. We also track learn to earn challenge start and completion rates, plus reward redemptions, top improvers, and reward preferences.
Accessibility
- Web accessibility: We can align design and testing to WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 requirements, and adapt to district needs.
- Language accessibility: The product is currently English only. Support for additional languages and full product translation is on our roadmap for a future release.
